D' Food Garden

D' Food Garden @ D'Piazza Mall

Assorted Vegetables La Men (Dry) . I tried this one as it's NEW menu. Unfortunately I was disappointed as the La Men is not the bouncy smooth type. Its texture was more like 'huat' de instant noodles (indomee hor?!).

Crsipy Chicken in Special Sauce with Rice RM8.90. This one was OK although not impressive. Both of the soup served for the dish is the same, really not worth mentioning.

Orange Honeydew Juice RM6.30. Fantastic!

Sausage RM3.60. It's very oily when it's first served. Thanks to the restaurant for being soooo observant, provide me with more tissues.

Demax Restaurant (港式小食館) - muntah darah!

Demax Restaurant (港式小食館) @ D' Piazza Mall

It's Sunday night. Four tables (including our table) were occupied at that moment. About 7.40pm.

We ordered a steamed siakap (RM28), 冰梅排骨 (ice plum pork ribs) (RM8) and lor hon zhoi.

The drinks were served about 5 mins later.

Later another 20 mins, our first dish was served. Nah, this is the one. Not bad lah but not as 'sour' as we expected loh.

Then, another 15 mins gone and we were still waiting for our second dish. I closed my eyes wanna sleep already!!! At that time it's 8.35pm already! Look below , we were still waiting... 25 mins gone liao! I saw another two tables who came after me have already got their fried rice lah, fried bee hoon, fried vege and etc served! If I had known this earlier, I would have ordered plate rice or noodles lah!

A 'person in charge'-like guy who carried notebook into the restaurant walked up the staircase then came down, then looked around but never border to pay attention to all these. I was disappointed. :(

One of the waitresses aware about our LONG PAUSE in eating and went to 'talk' to another young waiter. Result - NOTHING.

Later, another guy who took order came and asked what dishes were we lack of still. I requested to cancel the steamed fish and lor hon zhai if it's not been prepared yet. He came back and said, "the lor hon zhai I cancel for you already, the steamed fish is in progress. "OK lah!"

I really poo hui in my heart. After they served us the pork ribs, in between got 20 minutes, the lor hon zhai still not yet prepared at all and can be cancelled?! OMG!

Then, another 10 mins gone, here came the steamed fish. I wished I have never ordered that. Not fresh.

The worst thing is we still got to fork our RM50+ for this meal. Poo hui!

Inaka vs Soba Yoshi

Inaka @ Pulau Tikus

Don't know why lah, Inaka has become a straight choice for me to celebrate a particular or special day.

After shooting we ended up at Inaka again. Oh no.....let me see, 3 times in 1 month? :) First here , Second here .

Shiro Maguro (RM22 - 50% = RM11.00), Scallop (RM28 - 50% = RM14.00).

Unagi Rice Set (RM22.90+)

Sashimi+Tempura Rice Set (RM20.90+)

This time the tempura didn't disappoint me anymore.

So did the sashimi.

I believe my 4th time is gonna be pretty soon! :)

Soba Yoshi @ Krystal Point

The last round I found that their new menu is pretty ok but I was very upset on the smell that left on the whole body after stepping out of the restaurant.

Cali Temaki (RM6.00+)

Good! No more sausages as appetizer this round. It's octopus, much better!

This round we tried their Teishoku (定食).

Sashimi Tei (RM24.00+) - 5 types of assorted raw fish. The first impression was "Aiyoh, very MINI loh.......!!!"

Sukiyaki Tei (Gyu / Tori) - sliced beef or chicken, vegetables, bean curd in sweet japanese sauce. (RM20.00+). Frankly, I will not repeat ordering this anymore.

Wang Chao Hong Kong Seafood Poon Choy - 補上腦嘞!

Wang Chao 旺朝 @ Pekaka Square

We have RM60 voucher (donated) thus we decided to go for Poon Choy session that we missed out during last December plus treat this as our early CNY reunion lunch. Last Friday.

Ingredients of Poon Choy are :Shark fin, fresh scallop, chinese mushroom, fish maw, dried scallop, baby abalone, dried oyster, sea cucumber, abalone mushroom, sea asparagus, prawn, fatt choy, broccoli, chinese cabbage, small cabbage.
(魚翅, 鮮帶子, 冬菇, 魚飄, 干瑤柱, 湯鲍, 蠔士, 海參, 苓芝菇, 海龍鬚, 大蝦, 發菜, 西蘭花, 中國白菜, 小白菜).

This Poon Choy RM499 package consists of :

法蘭西紅酒 (Red Wine) 2 bottles.

人參瑤柱烏雞湯( Stewed Jin Shen, dried scallop & black chicken soup) each. This is the one which we believed that made half table of us getting the ' 補上腦嘞!' effect (read below). From our root cause analysis blah blah, and also from the fact that two persons who didn't drink red wine also kena.

香蒜荷葉臘味飯 (Garlic Lotus Leaf Rice) each . This one is not satisfactory, no fragance, only see all BLACK BLACK one.

Poon Choy (looks a bit MINI to us lah...haha!)

The baby abalone. One for each person. No need rebut.

How we know leh? When we ate the rice then proceeded to Poon Choy, after 2nd round of scooping Poon Choy, I and a few persons already started feeling ONE KIND. For me, my neck and whole arms and hands started feeling very tensed, very uneasy feeling. My cheeks and face later started going numb. Later the whole scalp also tightened like kena tarik rambut. Then I straightened my legs and rested my head on the chair, haha! "Hoi, you full already ah? so fast?" Then later when I showed my " 補上腦嘞! " through gestures, the rest started saying "Ya, I also got leh, I thought only ME nia." and more and more fedback the same thing....ha! Anyway, after a while (which include several slappings of my own cheeks by myself), the uneasiness went away.

泡參冰糖燉雪 (Stewed Snow Jelly with Pow Som) . NO wonder they served this as dessert, apparently after drinking this, we all soothed a lot and back to normal.

Therefore, beware of this package if your body is not fit for heaty food. If not, you all should be able to enjoy lah! :p

王美記脆皮燒肉

王美記脆皮燒肉

Reaching there only 11.30am and OH GOSH! Got to wait for 1 hour somemore! Luckily it's Sunday, if not even packed!

The famous roasted pork. Crispy top layer + fatty bottom = either think of heaven or cholesterol :) I ta pao some back to Penang but sad to say, without the crispness the quality immediately deteriorated. It's is best eaten during hot served from stove.

The char siew is also fantastic.

Roast Chicken - this one is pretty normal.

Dragon-i @ The Curve

The trip was meant for IKEA only (one and half days short trip) thus two days consecutively having meals at The Curve made me even more pek chek! :)

At The Curve, all those "NOT AVAILABLE" items in Dragon-i Penang Queensbay become "AVAILABLE". SYIOK!

The only drawback is the whole restaurant seemed to be rather warm. :(

香菇麵筋拉麵 (RM13++). Cheng cheng tei, so ngam me! I hunger for vege badly after having so much meat at the Ying Ker Lou the day before. I will order this again when back to Queensbay!

花旗參冬瓜燉雞湯 (RM16++). Due to the allergy phobia, that's how this soup (CHICKEN) comes about. :) I couldn't live without soup!

臘腸北菇滑雞蒸飯 (RM15++) . This is the item which is permanently stated as 'N/A' at Queensbay branch. Hmm....this one really takes much longer waiting time than the rest. 滑雞wak kai very wak, just like the Canton-i type of wak kai dishes.

四季豆薯子燜魚片 (RM15++). They are matching so well, one can eat both fish and vege at the same time. Sweet in taste.

楊枝金露 (RM10++). Unlike the ShangHai Ding one, this one is sour instead. Yes, I like anything to do with Mango to be sour.

Addicted to 迎客楼 (Ying Ker Lou)?!

Ying Ker Lou (迎客楼) @ The Curve

I was headache everytime when wanna find a restaurant to eat at The Curve. Why I ended up only think of either Ying Ker Lou or Dragon-i are the only two that are OK leh?! The rest really boh ngam my taste. *sei for*

I still remember my first visit at Ying Ker Lou last year , a restaurant serving Chinese-Hakka Cuisine. Although CKA, I was was pretty impressed.

Jasmin Tea 茉莉香片 / Person (RM4.00)

Hakka Fried Pork 客家焖炸肉 (RM24++). A repeated order. I like the fatty part and the black fungus loh!

Hakka Stir Fried Eggplant, Green Bean and Bittergourd 客家炒三寶 (RM15++). I like this dish too! The bittergourd is thinly-sliced. The whole dish turned out to be rather appetizing and sweet.

SP Lotus Soup 蓮藕燉湯 (RM11.00+). Ingredients are lotus, red dates, peanuts and pork. Lou For Tong, rich and moisturzing enough!

Braised Pork Tail with Peanuts 花生焖豬尾 (RM25.00++). The pork tail was rather springy, not that soft in texture, which is the way I like it to be. This kind of texture is good for chewing (嚼勁) though.
