Jenni's Homemade Cheese Cake

I wasn't aware that this Sunshine Jenni's is actually the branch of Jenni's @ Pulau Tikus until recently chit-chatting with Mr.O.

難怪啦, 其店面樸素,不起眼. 它實而不華, 不需額外宣傳,僅靠服務老饕,口碑相傳.

Cheesecake lah. What else woh?! :)

No need to describe more. Everyone knows how good the taste is & how smooth the texture is.

Location : Jenni's Homemade Cake & Pastry House. Opposite Sunshine market. Corner terrace house, same row with the big 2-units-bicycle shop.

My half homemade Tang Yuan

So happened the other day I saw the newspaper advertisement that Patani Road shop is selling the mooncake-sort-of paste.

So happened the other day Luan told me that the Perak Road Tang Yuan's price has increased to RM2.50.

So......here comes the making of my own soft-soft Tang Yuan.

1. Glutinous rice flour 500g (RM1.80) + black sesame paste (RM18.50)
2. Add water and knead.
3. Knead knead knead....
4. My niece also joined.
5. Middle stage of kneading.
6. Knead knead knead....
7. It becomes sticky. Continue to knead evenly.
8. Kneading done.
9. Put the black sesame paste.
10. Hide it up.
11. Round it up.
12. 10 pieces ready.

1. Throw into the water, add pandan leave.
2. Bring to boil.
3. The tang yuan will float when it's cooked.
4. Heat the soya milk up (RM1.80 for two packets).
5. Prepare to serve.
6. Serving done.

Look the same boh?! Taste the same boh?!

Yes lah! Yummy yummy!!! The glutinous part is even softer tim! By cooking ourselves, we can add as much soya bean milk as we wish. Hehe!

P/s : Black sesame paste is double the price of those red bean, lian yong and etc paste.

p/p/s: 500 grams of glutinous rice flour can make at least 40 pieces leh.

Yee Heong 宜香茶樓飯店 (part IV)

Morning Dim Sum & Ala Carte Order

Siew Mai

yong tao hu

Lor pak kou

Char hor fun

Man min

Sui Kao

Hung Tur Mee

The morning dim sum & ala carte order all are similar to 桃園 (Tao Yuan) dishes, but they were less ho liao than 桃園 (Tao Yuan). CANNOT BEAT 桃園 at all.

Look at 桃園Tao Yuan 's char hor fun & man min.

So, better stay still for zhu char (lunch or dinner) only for this Yee Heong 宜香茶樓飯店. :)

Dave Deli's Set Lunch

Is it a new menu or all this while it was there? I don't know. The only thing I know is this menu is better in terms of pricing and varieties. This menu added 1x extra choice(spaghetti, mash potato, french fries, rice). Try comparing with the previous one.

RM13.30 nett (1/4 chicken with spaghetti)

RM13.30 nett (1/4 chicken with mash potato)

RM13.30 nett (1/4 chicken with french fries)

RM13.00 nett (chicken chop)

Dishes above plus 1x lemon tea (RM2.70) = RM16.00 nett.

We chose this Dave Deli coz this one only got 1x table customers compared to the rest of the restaurants which were either full house or long queue lah. :)

Sorry

I would like to apologize if anyone of you didn't receive my follow ups/ responses / answers on your comments or questions as all this while I only checked Haloscan commenting system. The 'default' blogspot commenting system did not notify me and I may only notice there's a comment when going into "Edit Posts" page.

I only discovered the flaw in the template today(!)- a thing which I do not know how to solve lah.

The Haloscan appeared in my main page, individual post (sidebar) and archived posts (sidebar) BUT the default blogspot one co-exists at the individual post (side bar) when those ppl who 'google' some keywords and entered my particular post. It ended up I got two comment streams and my default blogspot comments channeled into individual post but not at main page nor archive post. Pening!

I have decided to sacrifice one. Permanently delete the default blogspot and maintain only the Haloscan.

Mind peace.

Old Town White Coffee @ Bayan Baru

Everyone knows what is Old Town Kopitiam.

Just a bit of story to share regarding this Bayan Baru outlet (near Sunshine Square). It has opened. Two storey lot. Same row with AmBank. Opposite ex-HSBC bank.

Yesterday was Saturday night. We got to queue in order to get the seats. I wouldn't have gone if I were to know that the upstair was not yet ready + pavement outside there did not 'have' seats.

Downstair can accomodate about 60 persons from my scanning. Outside surrounding pavement due to city council 'zho luan' woh, so they do not dare to place the tables outside. Upstair section is still closed due to not yet ready.

I believe when upstair is opened, the entire kopitiam will become more spacious & very cozy.

Fresh Lemon Tea (RM3.50++)

Garlic Butter Toast (RM3.20++)

Ipoh Lum Mee (RM5.80++) - the mee was too 'lembik'. For isi peruk, OK lah. If wanna go for real good one, still prefer the local lum mee at the back of Sunshine @ Bayan Baru morning market, one of the first row's stalls there.

One good thing is it opens till 1 a.m. :)

Eaton Datuk Kong Prayer Set

This is our today's Datuk Kong prayer meal. Wah........so BIG package oi.

We were caught in a downpour during noon time praying. Although we were very hungry (somemore induced by the cold weather), none of us could actually finish this heavy meal, got to tao pao back home.

I called this as 'whole chicken' meal - all meats, no vege at all. It's 'halal'.

Bak mee sua @ Sin Kim Sua

Macalister Sin Kim Sua, Tian Lai & HK dim sum (香港茶樓) kopitiam @ one row, Macalister Road

Bak mee sua @ Sin Kim Sua kopitiam , Macalister Road.

I coudn't believe it! I have blogged about the relau one but not a single post belongs to the Sungai Ara one. How could that have happened uh?! I have never blogged out the Sungai Ara seafood porridge (Bak Moi/Bak Mee Sua) before meh?! Oh mine.... My visit to there must be too frequent last time until I treated it as common.

FYI, the old couple's stall was once at relau 'triangle', then they 'retired' for a few years, then back to 'open stall' at Sungai Ara Taman Taimima here.

Anyway, the main role is the Bak mee sua @ Sin Kim Sua kopitiam for this post. It is good and the soup base is 'sweeter' & thicker. Unlike the relau one, it is more plain.

The lor duck and teochew tau hu @ HK dim sum kopitiam : No need to recommend too lah. If you get tired of bak kut teh soup, try ordering the mixed ingredients with soup one. It is super good!

The HongKong chee cheong fun @ HK dimsum kopitiam : Lao ji hoe liao lah this one, no need to recommend futher. It's exceptionally good. The only difference is every time comes also see the price increases leh. *-*
